FRENCH QUARTER TRILOGY
New Orleans. A visual cornucopia of wrought iron, parqueted brick and slate paving with uniquely eclectic doorways crowned with fantail windows, Revival styled porches, walled courtyards featuring lush green plants laden with fragrant blooms cascading over the pedestrian way like an arched canopy and spiced with hints of Creole and Caribbean fragrances recklessly splashed with a plethora of color that dazes the senses.
A layered composition of time, progress, history and images containing various architectural styles and representing various stages of economic and social growth within the French Quarter. This montage of heterogeneous elements reflects the varied aspirations, hopes, dreams, challenges and hardships of the many citizens and visitors who passed through this city over the last several centuries.
As individuals passed through these doorways and paused at these windows over the years, the distinct features of this city came to represent more than just a collection of architectural elements but an illuminated portal to a level of faith that overcame any sense of hesitation and fear. For none of them knew what obstacles and challenges would lay before them as they passed through this timeless city, but they all traveled with willing purpose to their tomorrow!
